Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the general characteristics of Iranian economy. Main characteristics
of the economy, specifically the knowledge of energy reserves, production, and consumption will help to asses
Iran’s nuclear energy program accurately. Such knowledge will also be very valuable in assessing the results
of a military conflict between Iran and the United States, Israel, and other western powers. Iran has an intensively energy dependent economy. Major problems are unemployment, specifically among women and youth, and inflation. On the other hand, Iran has very natural resources and national savings levels. However,
